Hello! My boyfriend's sister has a cockerpoo puppy who she ADORES. Can anyone recommend anything I can buy them both for Christmas presents?

I know next to nothing about dogs so any help would be gratefully received

You can get a book to test your dogs IQ which is a bit of a laugh.

OOh lots of suggestions:

-can never have too many dog blankets
-hi-viz collar and lead is good for winter
-ditto collar with light attached
-a toy for the dog (but you have to know what the dog responds to - a ball - or something squeaky - or furry- a kong?)
-portable dog drinking bowl for car or when out and about
-some sort of car mud proofer (after muddy walks) these sort of things
-hand-made treats (Google Dog Rescuers hand made dog treats) but best to know what dog likes first

  • bought treats (Millies Woolfheart are good) ditto above re dog preferences

Or a photo frame with particularly fetching picture of puppy!

Yes, there are some good dog training books available too. I would chose one's that focus on positive reinforcement. Or a general book about dog psychology.

Rechargeable usb light collar. Best thing I ever bought. Can be cut to size so you don't need to know the pup's exact size, and even if she already has something similar it doesn't hurt having a spare.
Some Kong toy but 99% of dog owners I know already have the classic one, so I'd go for some other model. My bunch has also really liked Nerf brand toys.
Also second the dog blanket, or a nice big cut of vetbed.

I just bought my dogs selection boxes Blush
They actually came in gold boxes, nicer than this photo like the dogs will actually care

If someone wants to buy me a dog related gift I always tell them to get vouchers from my dog groomer .

I've asked for a 64cm chuck it ball launcher, but that's only any good if the dog is a ball chaser (chuck it ultra balls are also amazingly indestructible, and they have a glow in the dark version too

The dog is getting a tin of Lily's kitchen three bird roast food, and a dog santa hat that I found in B&M for a quid

A light up USB rechargeable collar, chews (avoid rawhide) and treats where the dog has to work to get at food (e.g. Kongs) are all pretty widely acceptable as most dogs like food!

A dickie bag....its a poo bag carrier thing, sold on amazon. Best thing ive got for the dog! Following that depends how much you want to spend but always need things like new coats as spend so much time outside, hats gloves scalf combo etc. Or something they actually need for the dog...light up collars are good esp at this time of year!
