Dog thrush?

I have two chihuahua bitches and the eldest is three and a half. No health issues so far and I got her from a recommended breeder (who I will probs ring tomorrow, as well as my vet) but in the meantime... I have noticed she’s been licking her vulva more than usual for a few days, although I have just registered this tonight, and on inspection it looks a tiny bit puffy, and slightly grubby in the crevices. There’s no smell or discharge, but she has been doing ‘scooty bum’ a couple of times in a slightly odd (on her fanny) sort of way yesterday. I’m wondering if it’s thrush. Has anybody any experience of this with their dogs? Also, not sure if this is relevant, but our ancient (lovely and sadly missed) staffy was put down two weeks ago. He’d had kidney failure for two years and as a result was on a super strict feeding regime, which meant I never allowed any kind of treats or non medication food in the house. As these restrictions have now been lifted, I started giving the two chihuahuas a small bit of dentastix daily about a week ago. I was thinking about sugar and Candida and wondering if they are full of sugar? Or is it just coincidence. Anyway, I’m just pondering, so if any one has any light to shed on any of my mad ramblings I’d be very grateful.

Thrush is very rare vaginitis, UTI or pyometra are much more common. She needs to be checked by a vet.
