Walking after first vaccination?

My new puppy had first vaccinations at 10weeks. This means he is fully covered by the novibac dhp one but needs a second L4 one. Vet said not to walk until a week after second L4 - that will make him 15weeks old before first walk.

However when my other dog had his puppy vaccinations early last year, when he was 10weeks old, with the same vaccinations (nobivac), I was told he could be walked from 1 week after first set of vaccinations but to avoid wet and/or muddy places, until 1 week after 2nd L4.

The only difference between their vaccinations is the veterinary practice - as I changed vets earlier this year.

So now I'm confused can I walk him or not? I have obviously been carrying him out & about but he is a chunky thing and I can't carry him far. If I could walk him part of way it would allow me to take him more places.

I did let mine on the floor but avoided muddy areas/other dogs. So just on pavements.

At that age, he's not supposed to be walking for more than 10-15 mins anyway

I know it's not a long walk it's just for example I'd like to take him to the lake I walk past on nearly every walk I do with my older dog, there is a lot of wildlife there that I need him to be good at ignoring. If he could walk the 5mins of pavement and me carry him the 3mins to the lake, let him see the various ducks (whilst I'm holding him) and give him treats every time he ignores them, then carry him back to the pavement and him walk the 5mins back home it would really help.

Our vet said to wait a week after second vac. I questioned it and he said that because of where we live (a very urban area) there is a real risk from rats and foxes. Based on that I didn't risk it. That last week was a bloody nightmare and I was pretty fed up with it all.

I've jumped the gun by 2 days. Elfpup was driving me mad. He's chewing everything in sight and his toys aren't holding his attention long - even the illicit ones he's stolen from the recycling bin.

My vet said a week from the second jab but his colleague I'd seen a couple of days earlier suggest I walk Elfpup around town before he'd even had his second shots so it all seems very arbitrary.

The rats bit worried me. Although I've never seen any in my street, I have seen rats and mice cross the main road (still a small housing estate road) here - we are right by a nature reserve, so wildlife naturally comes onto the housing estate.

I think I'm erring on the side of waiting and sticking to carrying him around. I just wish he wasn't such a chunk!
