Only yesterday I commented on the post about the Lab with the wobbly legs 😢

I didn't know then that the following day we would lose our beautiful GSD, Alfie, to his wobbly legs😢

He deteriorated very quickly, and ended up unable to get up or walk, collapsing on the floor and just laying there with a defeated look in his eyes.
We took him to the emergency vet - she was lovely - this morning. She tested his responses when she prodded his legs and feet and confirmed that he had no feeling in his back legs and little in his front legs. It was his time.😢
He passed quickly and peacefully in my husband's arms.
RIP Alfie, you can run free now and chase those hares again!xxx
The photo was just taken last March on his 11th birthday

I'm so sorry, it's heartbreaking.
Not any comfort to you but we are in a similar situation with our 12 yr old Airedale. He lost his back leg use for a few hrs last weekend and was dragging his back legs around but the use came back albeit he is very wobbly - his time is coming too we fear.

Thank you everyone for your lovely comments. Alfie was a one family dog, he took guarding us and his home very seriously which TBH was a bother sometimes when visitors were here.
However, he was a wonderfully loving dog to us, his family, and our other dogs.
About 8 weeks ago we got a springer puppy and Alfie was a fabulous uncle to him, tolerating a lot of puppy abuse.
So now we have our cocker and our springer pup, so the house is still lively, but there is definitely someone missing. 😢
