Dachsund/chihuahua cross barking at other dogs

Hi, I have a chiweeniem which is a dacshund/chihuahua cross, who will be 9 years old in August. At home, she is generally a pretty good dog - quite affectionate and relatively patient and gentle with my young daughter - but she barks at the slightest noise and goes crazy when the postman comes. The biggest problem I have is when it comes to walks. I walk her every day for around 40 mins to an hour. It would be such an enjoyable experience but for the fact she barks crazily at every dog that she sees!. She literally goes hysterical and there is nothing I can do to stop her. She barks at them until they are out of sight, but inevitably the next dog comes along and it happens all over again. I am finding the whole thing really stressful. I would be grateful for any advice on how to stop her from barking at other dogs, Thank you.

How long have you had her? What training or socialisation did you do?

I have had her since she was three months old. She hasn't had any formal training but for the first 3 years or so, she spent every day with my nan's Yorkshire Terrier, as my nan looked after her whilst I was at work.

Do you walk in busy areas? Does she play with or mix with other dogs?
The barking is her telling you something. She's scared or wants to play etc. It isn't about stopping the barking but first figuring out why she does it. Fear? Excitement?

I walk generally around residential areas and sometimes through parks. I have noticed that she doesn't bark as hysterically when the dogs are about the same size or are smaller than her and also she hardly barks when the other dog barks back at her, which is rare to be honest. I'm wondering if she wants their attention. She has been spayed.
