Omg we've got a new puppy! Always seems like a good idea until he's weeing on your slippers and chewing your toes! Our two year old bitch is not amused, despite numerous requests for a friend to play with (or so I translated). I need tips, tips for helping the two get along, tips for house training, basically, the best tips all you dog lovers have got, lay them on me. I'm like a sponge Hmm I'm going to soak them right up and be super dog owner! He'll have to go to classes as he's the kind of dog that'll have me trained in no time apparently (where does he get his tips from, dogsnet?)

This is a very good FB group www.facebook.com/groups/374160792599484/

I'm sure you'll find something related specifically to standard poodles if you have a google.

That FB group is awesome. Toilet training advice was really helpful.

I have a standard poodle! Although everywhere I go people say 'ooh is it a Labradoodle?' Looks nothing like a Labradoodle.

Ooh, a fellow Standard owner! They are fantastic, quick learners, sensitive, affectionate. Our boy was almost house trained when we had him (10 weeks), and our old rescue bitch trained him in many ways. You will need to keep him entertained - they're interested in everything - and when he's able to do longer walks he'll need a LOT of exercise - 2 hours in the woods takes the edge off him nicely(!). Socialisation and training classes are a must in my opinion. Good luck!

Oh yes, they are NEVER WORN OUT. EVER!

He is almost house trained too, I would like to take credit but I suspect the breeder has been busy. He's wearing my Tibetan terrier out! He's almost as big as her despite being 18mths younger! This is him and his gorgeous mum! He's a little pudding and don't get me started on the amount he poos!!

Loads of people have asked if he's a cockerpoo, I say he's a standard poo!

Bruce is a great name.
Mine is a really good guard dog. Would not hesitate to bite someone if they tried to get in. Hates it if we're split up on a walk, runs back and forth trying to herd us all!

Nice to meet fellow Poodle owners! Can't wait until we can start taking him on little walks....which I know will turn out to be massive walks when he's older!

He fab. We lost ours around a year and a half ago, and are just now thinking about getting another. It would have to be another Standard - just brilliant dogs.
