What size crate?

What size crate do you have for your dogs? I will be getting a Staffie (adult) from the rescue in a few days and I'd like it to be on the larger size. What size do you think would be best? Thanks!

My 24kg lurcher has a 48" crate that is waaaay too big, for both him and our house. We call it his bedroom, or the East Wing, as it's so huge.
Friend has a much more modest 36" one for her spaniel, which would prob suit yours.
IIRC the rule of thumb is that dog must be able to fully stand and turn easily in it. Mine can do bloody cartwheels in his.

Should mention that our crate had previously been used for a GSD and several puppies, but was v cheap on Ebay and with local pickup, so I grabbed it as it was desperately needed.

I think a staffie would be fine in a large crate. My lurchers have an XL, and I have a L for my foster puppies. Best price I've found was on ebay

TY! I've bought a medium for now which by the measurements should be OK - he's a really tiny Staffie but can always upgrade!

ooh I love staffies - what is yours like and when does he/she arrive? I lost my staffie cross last month and have been homechecked today for my new arrival from the rescue a whippet/staffie cross so he will be taking up residence next week Grin

LaGatta I had a beautiful whippet Staffie cross. She was utterly bonkers and the most loving dog I've ever met. She looked like a skinny gremlin with massive ears! Good luck with your new pup Smile

Thanks Getnaked - he is 9 years old was in a home but owner gave him up due to health problems and he is very loving and does enjoy a cuddle and is good on the lead and with other dogs am looking forward to having a best pal again been so lonely since losing my other dog last month and missed going out for walks and having that unconditional love. He is mostly black with a white chest and bit of white on his face. Need to change him name hopefully as his current name is a bit naff.
