My lovely girl was spayed on Tuesday. She had her first pre op check with the very today and all is fine. She is sleeping a lot and laying on her bed. Today she got up and barked at a delivery man, is eating ok and going to the toilet.
It's just I worry and I just worry and well love her so so much.
Is she ok?
What can I expect? Is this ok? All this sleepiness?

Such a worry it is when going throigh such big op.

Recovery depends on lots. Pre op health exercise diet age type of op amd just keeping her quiet till ga has left her system. Big/small dog.

If all checked out well at post op all sounds ok. She'll be feeling a bit sorry for herself and good for her to be resting. Are you taking her out fir little walks? Will keep her spirits up and keep her moving

I am taking her for the odd short walk around the garden. The vet said no more than ten minutes. I took her out in the car earlier to deliver a card and I think she enjoyed barking at random people. She is eating well and the wound is good. I just find this all so worrying but I know it's the best thing for her.

She is also wearing a rather sweet baby vest so we can avoid the cone of shame.

I'm about to go through the same with mine and I feel exactly the same way! She needs to be done end Nov/beg Dec ideally - she's a 3 yr old lab and I'm dreading it! I'm too soft with her !

Tatty it is a hard decision and you need to have enough time to really look after them. My Mini Schnauzer is one and quite small. The baby vest is a really good idea I got from a lady in the park. It means she doesn't have the cone on apart from when I have to leave her alone for 30 minutes for the school run. I'm hoping she will get back to herself really soon. We can't walk her until after ten days. I really miss our walks.
