My dog is bored. I need ideas.

What she really needs is a trip to the park but a) I had surgery recently and while I can take her to the park, I can't dry and brush her afterwards as well (its raining). I can do one or the other but not both yet, and b) she is just getting over kennel cough and I don't really want to spead it around.

So far today we have played find the treat, done obedience training, done some trick training, played fetch, and played chase each other around the house like loons. She has also had 2 different chews and played stuff a toy under the sofa repeatedly.

I admit she didn't get up this morning until nearly 10 (hence DH not walking her this morning) but she's only slept for an hour since! I need to do something that will tire her out but I've run out of ideas.

I can't wait until things get back to normal!

She needs a game of sprinkles Turkey or chicken is good, chopped up really fine or a tin of tuna or sardines. My ddogs can do this for easily 40 minutes or more, and are tired out afterwards

What about a frozen Kong? Or if she's a clever pup put some treats in an old
tin or Tupperware box and let her try and get them out

Sadly she's not that interested in food, she has failed to empty any kong no matter what it's filled with. I think she's too lazy to be bothered. Find the treat is a trained behaviour that we quit playing before she gets bored because I know she'll give up the moment it becomes to much effort.

She also doesn't play with toys much. The only thing she plays with is a squeaky ball and even then its not for long.

It was so much easier to entertain the collies!

I packed her off to a friends house this morning where she ran riot with 3 other dogs so she's sleeping now. It's dry at the moment so I'll walk her later.

She hasn't coughed for 2 whole days now so hopefully we can go back to dog training next week.
