Lost my lovely Rosie

On Tuesday 5th July we suddenly and unexpectedly lost our beautiful little girl, Rosie-Bear at only 3 years old.

She was the love of my life and my heart is shattered into a million pieces.

The house is so quiet without her and I can't bear coming home to nothing but silence when she used to greet us so lovingly.

I am really not coping at all and I don't know what to do.

My poor poor baby :0(

Thank you for your kind words. I am currently 38 weeks pregnant and they were meant to be best friends. It's really hitting me hard.

They are so much more than just animals, they are family

I'm so very sorry. I lost one of my beautiful pals just over 3 months ago, but she was old, it was less of a shock. I still cry for her now and again though.

Take care of yourself and give yourself time to grieve. You've just lost a member of your family, and you need to go through this process.

So sorry to read your post. It is so hard. Give yourself love and time to grieve. I always do a little photo book and video for my dogs who pass, so I can work through emotions in a constructive way and I then also have a beautiful finished product to look at.

Run free Rosie-Bear. Taken too soon but in your Mummy's heart forever.

Thank you all xxx

She had a tummy bug and stayed in the vet on Sunday and Monday night to recuperate.

We went to collect her on Tuesday evening and when they went to get her out of her kennel to bring her to us she collapsed and her heart stopped. They got her back but she crashed again and there was no coming back from it.

They took some tests and it looks most likely that it was from toxic shock. She was showing no untoward symptoms so it was a massive shock for us and the vet staff.

There is a massive Rosie shaped hole in my life and I just can't stop crying.

I ordered a memory box yesterday to keep her things in and we have just collected her. She is in the back of a photo frame so she can look out of the window at home like she always did.

I just can't believe she's gone. Far too young :0( I am consoled that it was quick and she didn't suffer and also that she wasn't alone in her last moments.

What a beautiful little pooch she was. A Yorkie? Hard as it is, try to focus on her lovely life she had with you and that she didn't suffer as you say. She sounds like she was a lucky little thing to have you and was so loved. You'll start remembering the good times soon.

Thank you all so much xx

PlanD - yes she was a yorkie. A beautiful little clever girl she was too. Thank you for your words - she was indeed very much loved and we tried to give her the very best life we could.

I miss her so much and am looking forward to when I can smile about the lovely memories we made together during her short little life.

God, so sorry Angel, that's awful, you poor thing. It's bad enough when they're old but at least you can console yourself with the fact that it's time. Three is no age at all. Hope you're ok. Flowers

I'm sorry for your loss. A lot of people understand the sadness and grief at losing a beloved pet who's part of the family.

You'll have given her food love cuddles walks a home and that's all she will ever have wanted. She will have loved you unconditionally and will have left you with many memories. Try to not forget all of those.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. Flowers

Oh Angel I'm so, so sorry for your heartbreak. Rosie-bear was absolutely gorgeous. I can't imagine the shock you've been through. It's still really early days and you need to be kind to yourself in your grief. Please try and take comfort in how much you and your Rosie gave to each other's lives. She was so lucky to have you and i can understand how lucky you must feel to have had Rosie in your life. Flowers

Thank you Daisy and SomeDays. It's been a week today and I am just taking it one day at a time.

She was (and is) so so loved and her absence is felt constantly.

We received a beautiful condolence card from the vets yesterday with lovely hand written notes from all the nurses about how lovely she was. They had gotten to know her well in the last couple of months as she had had 4 operations on her legs.

She was so special. I hope she sends me another little puppy to love someday

How are you doing today Angel?

Report
AngelRosie · 14/07/2016 09:32

Hi SomeDays, I am doing ok, thank you for asking Smile

I am now trying to focus on the good times we had and can look at pictures and videos without crying. She was such a quirky little thing and the videos are making me laugh.

39 weeks pregnant now and can't wait for this baby to come so the house feels alive again.

We are thinking of getting another puppy in the new year. Not to replace Rosie but to show it the love she taught us to give. I think she'd want us to give a home to another doggy who needs some love.

So sorry OP. You never forget them, they are all unique. The circle of life is cruel sometimes. Good luck for your upcoming new baby and for new dog in the new year. Nothing will replace your lovely Rosie, but her legacy of love will live on.
