Puppy Toilet Training - Am I doing this right?

Puppy has a massive crate which he loves. Goes in for a snooze to escape the kids etc., in the main happy to hold things until he cries in the morning to get me up to let him out into the garden. Problem is that he will go out, do a wee (or two), have a poo but then come in and do another wee or poo in the house. Literally the minute he's brought in. He's great at night but during the day he just tends to wee all over the kitchen, with occassional crying to be let out (which is great because as soon as he goes out he wees). I also take him out every half hour or so just to see and give him lots of praise and treats if he does anything. He loves treats.

I haven't paper trained him as he just tries to attack or eat the paper. He's a 10 week old lab btw.

Is this normal puppy toilet training behaviour, am I doing it all wrong, any tips etc. I don't mind mopping and wiping up as he's only a baby I just want to make sure I'm doing things right for him.

Sounds ideal! They cant help accidents so you just praise the ones that hit the right spot. You can try walking him around the garden before you take him back in to lose the last drops.

Have you started using a command word that he can associate with doing his business , we use 'go quickly' and it really did help . The only other thing you could do is check for signs that he needs to go and move a bit quicker to get him out - when mine was small I even used to pick him up mid wee and run out the door with him so that he got the idea that outside is the place to do it .

My 12 week old needs about 3 wees and a poo after holding his bladder over night.

I'm trying to decide how well our trainings going as we still have at least one accident a day but he does sniff about the door when he needs to go most of the time.
