Help please! Dog ruining carpets

Had new carpets laid about a month ago and my dog keeps weeing on them! It's driving me crazy and I don't know why he's doing it!!
He's toilet trained and does still toilet outside and on walks but since new carpets have been laid he will just blatantly have a piss and look straight at me as he's doing it, he's not even sly about it, I'm finding it hard not to get cross with him!
He sleeps in my bedroom with me, we got up, he ran downstairs where he normally waits at the back door for me to let him straight out for his morning wee - well this morning he just went into the living room and did a massive wee by the sofa, I was livid, I've cleaned it up as best I can but I'm sitting here and I can still smell it - it stinks!!!
Anyone shed any light on how to help me please??

Get a big bottle of simple solution from pets at home and use that to make sure there's no trace of wee scent left. Dogs can still smell their wee after you've used standard cleaners and will keep going back to the same place to wee. New carpets have quite a strong smell even to humans so he's probably just trying to make it smell better (to him ... )

I know this is a pain. If you can afford it buy a carpet cleaner. Our girl did the same thing and the carpet cleaner saved my mind as it gets the smell out. As for stopping it he needs to remember that he doesn't go in the house. The only way my girl was able to grasp this was by keeping her on a long lead for a few days. She was never out of eye sight and toileted and praised massively. We used it in the bedroom as well until she got it. She does this on rare occasions now, the christmas tree always confuses her! The last time she did it I (unplanned) gave her a hard stare while I cleaned it up and that had the most immediate impact of anything. Her manners were impeccable after that!

The first thing I would do is to take the dog to the vet to check there is no urine infection or physical reason for the weeing.

If your carpets contain wool it is sometimes dyed using ammonia, and that is a cue to any dog to pee here. So cleaning the carpets with any enzyme based carpet cleaner would be a good idea.

Reinforce her toilet training by taking her on the lead to her toilet once an hour, praise her a lot when she uses it.
And dont let her on your carpets unsupervised until she's got it!
