The doghouse

New dog is being spayed tomorrow, what do I need to do before she goes in?

Regarding food etc? We've had her on trial from a rescue for two weeks and just decided to make it official :) and they asked if I was able to take her in. I said yes of course but they forgot to tell me what to do before I take her and now I can't get hold of them on the phone to ask.

Can she have her tea? Breakfast tomorrow?

No food after 9 tonight and lift her water up in the morning too.

She can eat tonight but not in the morning. Lift her water as tabulahrasa says.
Our dog just got done in the summer she was surprisingly fine after it. Bit less of an appetite. Was told to keep it light afterwards she managed a few mouthfuls. The worst part was the first few hours with the cone on she would just stop and hang her head as soon as she hit something. Once she realised if she just kept going it would bend she was fine. Backs of our legs weren't though. We all got a few bruises.

Most recent advice is free access to water till 20mins before surgery. We advise our clients no food from 9pm the night before water as normal till they come to the surgery.
