Hello, hoping someone has some suggestions. I have googled this seems to be one of a few things but few suggestions to stop or help this.
For the last two nights ( this has happened one before a few months ago) my dog ( lhasa apso) has been frantically licking the floor, she then frantically licks her paw and pulls the hair out and eats it. This is with a strange double throat cough where she seems to be trying to vomit. She appears quite distressed throughout this. Last night she did this all night and at one point i had to pull out the hair from her mouth/throat since she was very agitated and seemed to be choking. She vomited a few times as well. Been to the vet again she is not sure. First she thought this was anxiety and separation issues, but i was not sure since she never normally does this and i been with her all this week. ( last time was about 6 months ago and lots of tests, xrays and nothing found). Last time she was given some tablet for acid i think and it help.
This time a different vet and nothing. I am a bit worried about tonight and any suggestions welcome - i really dont think it is anxiety or separation and i have not given her any food today. So far she seems fine ( happy as usual).
