Really sad tonight, went for lovely evening final walk for my old girl Casey tonight, vets coming in the morning to give her a strong sedative as she's terrifies of the car since became senile, so I can drive her to the vets without her stressing and then it's time to say goodbye. Sad if only they could live as long as we do, wouldn't have this rotten awful chest splitting ache
Please don't post the bridge, can't bare to see that right now

I'm so sorry Sad

She sounds like one of the lucky ones - truly loved by you.

My ddogs sadly went before I had to make the decision but I hope you find some comfort in the knowledge that you did this for her.

I hope you manage to get some rest and have a peaceful last night with her. I'm sorry, I don't know what to say - I get panicky thinking about what your going through.

I hope tomorrow goes as smoothly as possible. If she could, I'm sure she'd be thanking you. For making the decision, for loving her and for being with her.

I'm so sorry. It's so hard. Can't it be done at home, if the vet's coming out anyway?

Do you want to tell us about her? She sounds loved. Flowers

My beloved girl is gone Sad
Lovely vet came and as the sedation worked well and she could find a good vein, then she was able to do it at home; so Casey went whilst on her bed in her favourite spot, with cuddles from me and kisses from my young dog Rosie. It's so hard to say goodbye but at least she went in the kindest easiest way possible and just slipped away whilst sleeping. She was one in a million, a long term foster as she was already 12 when came into rescue, I was a reluctant fosterer when she arrived but she snuck in and stole a Huge chunk of my heart and was my amazing, funny, loving, clever mummy's girl, I only wish Id had her so much earlier in life; but so glad I did finally agree the fostering, she was a very special girl

She was very lucky to find you so late in her life - I hope that's some consolation.

Love to you. We lost our 14 year old, last year. We lost our 14 year old last year. Only got her when she was 2, and my biggest regret was I never had a picture of her as a puppy and never will as like your little girl, she was 'mummy's girl' her whole life. They do steal a piece of us, eh?

Aww, I am sorry. ((hugs))
Sounds like she had a wonderful life with you. You should be proud of that.
Take the memories and hold them dear.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my 12 year old girl last week, also at home. I hope you can take some comfort that she was at home with everything she loved around her Flowers

Thank you

Kept busy but now it's bed time it's all hit again, keep listening out to make sure she's ok, and it's too quiet

Vanda - yes, can take some comfort in that, she hated the car so much that was so glad didnt have to drive her even sedated, and she was a real home body, loved going out visiting, but was always so happy to be back home, so it was right that she should be here at the end

I am so sorry to hear of your loss, Adara, it must have been heartbreaking for you.

You made the bravest and kindest decision possible and your beautiful girl will have slipped away surrounded by love in the comforting and familiar surroundings of her home and beloved mummy.
