We have a 10 week old Chihuahua puppy. She lives the usual puppy life of eat, sleep, poop, play madly and repeat.

She sleeps well in her crate at night, usually having a mad play in the evening until about 8 o clock, after which she'll sleep tucked under your neck until it's out bed time between 10.30 or 11 when she puts herself to bed in her crate. We get up around 6, she'll madly play for a few hours before nap time again.

3 times a week she comes into work with me, following the same pattern. a mad play in the morning and lunch and afternoon, with a good nap inbetween.

Today though and a day last week she has slept since I bought her in this morning. She's still asleep now at just gone 2! she got up for a wee, some food and a drink and promptly put herself back to sleep.

Is it usual for a puppy to potentially over play one day and need to catch the next? she doesn't seem ill, she's pooed twice today, both normal firm turds.

She's just seems very quiet! rather than pull at my trousers to get on my knee at work she settled in her bed:( (which I shouldn't complain about really).

Aww. She's lovely. She's only 10 weeks so perfectly normal.

That's normal my chihuahua cross Jrt ( Jackhuahua) was exactly the same at that age. some days all he seemed to do was sleep and others he spent most of the day zooming around with little naps in between.

Dogs are meant to sleep around 18 hrs a day, puppies more, as long as she's eatjng and toiletting ok Id not worry, she just needs to catch up after madness Smile

She was fine! Booked in anyway for her jabs that evening so she got checked over. Nothing wrong, got home and she spent two hours behaving like a gremlin racing around Grin

The same today, we are back at work and she's spent half the morning racing back and forth to the kitchen as people fuss her while making a brew. At least it wears her out, it's a long way for tiny legs.
