I have a broken lurcher who has just had 1000s of ££s worth of surgery on a hind leg after being hit by a vehicle so needs to be kept very quiet for at least six weeks.
We have a house full of kids, cats and another dog and last time we put her in a crate, she cut her face open trying to get out.
Any ideas anyone?

I'd never even been able to get my dog into a creat before surgery and I quite literally felt sick every time I thought about how he was going to cope with a six week recovery period but cope he did.

Make sure the creat is slightly larger than he needs, put his regular bed in and keep him busy with bones/stuffed Kongs/chew toys. If you put him in while he's still dopey, he will adjust and probably get miffy when you finally take it away.

Do you have a room you don't really use? Or puppy pen instead of a crate you can get some very tall sturdy ones your looking £100+ for a really good one but even my boy who can rip a crate apart like its a rope toy cannot manage the pen

The trouble is going to be finding room for a crate :(
I don't think a puppy pen would work as she might try and jump out. We had to put a couple of feet extra on our 6 foot perimeter fence as she was leaping that into the neighbours.

You can get puppy/whelping pens that you can build to your size/shape and use a pannel as a roof, it can even be screwed into the floor if required.

If you have no space for anything though then it's going to be hard to insist on bed rest
