Hi don't know if anyone can help, my rescue English bull terrier is halfway through a course of aludex baths for demodex and it's working. First negative skin scrape yesterday. The problem is my vets can't get hold of any as there is a national shortage. Does anyone have any unused bottles they'd like to sell me or I can make a donation to a charity of your choice?

Can't help but just to bump this as a (former) EBT owner. We had a staffy 30 years ago, who got demodex - probably came with it from the mum as we got her from a backstreet breeder. And we managed to turn it round with those awful constant baths. So I know how hard it is. Hope someone comes along to help you, soon.

Have you tried posting on a dog forum like Dogsey?

Dogs trust might have some?

Can't your vet call round other local practices for you?

Alternatively, Advocate fortnightly often works on mild or localised cases. And in tricky cases oral ivermectin, which is off licence but often very effective.

Both my vet and myself hsd called around all other local practices and I called round ones near where inlaws live about 80 miles away but no luck. It seems few vets keep it in stock. I had also contacted the manufacturer who was no help other than to say it won't be available again to Jan 15. Vet was looking at an alternative plan as already tried advocate.
But I managed to find some at the animal health trust in Newmarket so we are going for a drive tomorrow. They won't normally prescribe for patients that aren't theirs but are helping us which is really kind. Grin

Ah brilliant news. Would love to see a pic of your EBT when restored to his/her former glory.
