Dog's breath smells of poo

Any ideas what this is about? It's constant. Of course she may actually be eating poo, I know they do, but I haven't seen it, and I've seen her walk past poo seemingly not tempted.

You can get something to add to there food which supposedly makes there shit taste bad to them and stops it but don't think it worked with mine she just grew out of it

Check her glands, any time our dogs have whiffy breath their anal glands have been a bit leaky and they're licking them.. delightful!!

My dog eats my other dogs poo , he won't eat any other dog poo. We have tried the stuff you put in their food but didn't help.

If it's the annul glands they usually give off a fishy smell ( it really is disgusting ) and they often drag their bottom across your carpet.

One of my dogs often smells of cat or horse poo - guess why! The most likely explanation is that yours is having a crafty snack when you're not looking.

Tell me about it Wholelotta, so so gross. But she is otherwise a gorgeous, happy, sweet natured ball of fur with no behavioural problems what so ever.

Ok, she doesn't drag her bottom. Other dog does this a bit, and does have to have help in that area frequently, but vet has checked this dog twice and she's had minimal build up.

She doesn't smell fishy. And I don't think her body or bottom smell generally, but it's hard to tell because when you get close she gets excited and breaths more.

I struggle to see when she's managing this addition to her diet. They don't go off lead so surely I'd see her tucking in? (oh god)

The worst is when I've gone in close to check whether he is smelling of poo in his mouth area, or it's something else, and he tries to lick me! Vomit.

Ahh you said a sweet ball of fluff, there is a little flap of folded skin just where dogs canine teeth settle on the lower lip, coated breeds can harbour a bit of an unpleasant smell from there. Worst offenders are cocker spaniels, speaking here as a retired dog groomer. Stretch the skin along this area and get your nose down into, could be stinky.

Oh and I should also add that we had one dog years ago developed just this smell overnight and by good fortune she was sat looking up at me making ham sandwiches panting, the light was just in the perfect direction as I went to drop a slice into her mouth and noticed green pus at the very back, she had a massively rotten tooth that was removed a couple of days later, she wasn't off her food or appeared be in pain. Have you had her teeth looked at lately?

Well this has all been truly disgusting but I can report that today her breath is as fresh as a daisy so it must have been that she ate poo. Delightful.
