I have a 6 month old Scottie. Like all dogs his age he likes a good chew and so we keep him with an endless supply of stag bars, filled bones, rawhide etc.
We'd bought him Petstages products when he was a tiny puppy and he still has those chew toys, but, as he's getting bigger we thought he might be better with a bigger chew.
I bought him the Orka bone and the big one at that, at almost £6 it wasn't cheap really either. The picture of it here shows a golden retriever chewing on it. The packaging describes it as 'durable, reduces a dogs boredom & destructive behaviour, for hours of chewing pleasure'.
I gave him the bone for the first time this afternoon. Within 5 minutes it was destroyed. I caught him before he swallowed it (though I believe it's non toxic) but what the picture doesn't show as clearly is that most of the end of the bone is hanging on by a thread and the rope is now easily detachable.
I've emailed Petstages, I am assuming this might be a bad batch for the reason he has another petstages chew of the same material which hasn't met this fate, but if you are considering buying this for a chewy puppy may I suggest you invest in a stag bar or something instead.
