Because he is an unqualified fake that promotes harmful and dangerous 'training methods'.

He actually spreads damaging and disproven myths about dog behaviour and uses cruel and unethical methods relying on pain, fear and intimidation.

The world's leading dog behaviour experts and professional trainers are actually helping dogs using kind, effective, science-based behaviour modification techniques.

Cesar Milan achieves results through fear.

My only concern is that he will 're-invent' his training techniques in order to sell more books.

PAH is fantastic for training dogs and socialising them and I always remove the CM books (and others) from the shelves and hide them

So, he's the Gina Ford of dog training? My mum loves him. I smile and nod politely, while doing things completely differently.

He bullies dogs into submission.

Even DH can have the odd moment of needing to be stern and 'the boss', although not in the pack leader way. More like, he poo poos clicker training and thinks I am too soft.

Caveat is that he's the one talking goo goo ga ga to them and feeding them tip bits etc when he thinks no one is watching

And I am not the one in the garden at 6am every morning playing hide and seek with them

On the other hand, I am reading Reaching the Animal Mind, by Karen Pryor. It's about clicker training, so not to everybody's taste, but you couldn't ever see the Cesar Milan stuff in the same way, after having read this book, if indeed you thought his methods were in any way worthy.

I used To watch him and began To feel uncomfortable but having no experience of dogs or training I thought it was me. Then I saw an episodio where he was shown returning To his home. The look his wife gave him when he walked through the door spoke volumes. I'd already bought one of his books but Couldn't get past the first chapter.

Couldn't read the Gina Ford book that was given To me either.
