So after dealing with losing our big lad (risk #1 - room for one more) and giving ourselves permission to have a nice, easy puppy for the first time in years, instead of the high needs, unwanted and unwell we usually get, I've got a Cocker spaniel curled up in my lap...I suspect Jedi tendencies on behalf of my rellies!
Yep, instead of our puppy we have a 2 year old Cocker who has a collection of stress related anti social behaviours.

I can't say I'm not happy about it because she's got the bones of a beautiful, generous and solid dog and I look forward to meeting the real her but I really would like to know how it happened? It's a bit of a blur 'coat, phone, dog, yep. See you next week' 'Wait...what?'
I suspected collusion on DH's part but he says not.
Surely it can't be the pure, unicorn-esque, power of long black eyelashes and soft brown eyes alone? Or will I have to admit I am softer than Mr Whippy?

Doggy bag, brilliant!
She's called Annabelle, it's slightly more of a mouthful than I'm used to tbh. Due to an apparently threatening reflection of herself in the window incident she already has a less complimentary name from DH. She is snoring her head off in his armpit currently, so that's both of them making a noise like a pig in echo canyon 
my old girl is looking at the scene with great distaste she is not a fan of noisy sleepers.
I had prepared for a long wait for the next one. Funny how it happens sometimes. Enjoying the honeymoon though, the graft starts tomorrow.

Something - the rescue I got our lurcher from needs an urgent foster home for one of their dogs so that they can take one from the pound that will otherwise be PTS today.... Some foster homes turn into permanent homes...

A walk without a dog always seems like a non-event.

Mistlethrush I'm looking for a dog! I'm in Scotland though and I have children (probably being on MN already gave me away on that one!) so probably not suitable for a foster home but I would be delighted if you could recommend any decent rescues near me (if you know any that is!) I've had a look on the internet but haven't been to any yet as I wanted to educate myself on the process first.

I've been asked to look out for homes for a. Four month old Cockerpoo. Owner's husband just diagnosed with life-changing illness 
b 18 month old wire coated jack russell. currently fostered with distant relatives of original owner, but dynamic not working with their own two dogs.
DameDeep that's really sad I started looking at rescue dogs online and was sobbing at some of the stories. That's why I haven't been to look yet, I need to know what I'm looking for exactly or I'll break down :(
Also doesn't help that the breeds I really like are not really suitable for my lifestyle. Bloody pesky children!
I say ate, looking at the bits the treats were eaten but the bag and clicker just got crunched up and spat out (although I think there'll be a bit of bungy in a poo tomorrow) it's all good fun.
She's getting schooled in manners by the cats . One less job for me, bless her furry socks.

Glad the main bits didn't get properly eaten Bursar as they might have clogged things up and I'm sure you've not sorted insurance out yet....
If anyone doesn't have the cat issue that Lingham has, Heidi needs a home soon - she was due to be PTS, so taken in, then got taken to the vets to be spayed, to find that she was in pup. She's been a good mum, good with other dogs, and really good with the current fosterer's small relatives.
(and there are some really lovely squidgy puppy pictures there too)

Mistlethrush - she is insured and we can just pick up the policy with barely a blip - they're just happy to keep the payments rolling in. Funny how it was much easier to sort it when we want to give them money than take it, I expected a much longer call the microchip on the other hand . Luckily we're in a position to afford any catastrophes should the worst happen. We are pretty prepared after giant breeds and Flatcoats (one of which could injure himself on fresh air).
