Dog has funny tummy after being at dog sitters - how to get rid of smell????

That's it really.

Picked dog up yesterday and she messed in utility room last night. DH cleaned it up this morning (bless him he got up at 4.30am before work to be able to walk her and was faced with that, was a sweaty heaving mass when I came downstairs) but the room stinks and the smell is making me gag.

DH said he wiped up all mess, dettolled the floor and sprayed air freshener in there and I have lit some fragranced candles and left them in there.

Any other ideas for getting the smell out of the room. There are no windows in there, door opens into garage and DH is obsessed (rightly so) that we have had mice in garage before and last thing we need is to leave door open and have a mouse infestation.

I need to do washing today after getting back from hols at the weekend and washing machine is in there and the smell is invading the kitchen any ideas as to what will eliminate the smell??

No one?

Have steamed floor twice and have all doors open now. Sod the mice, start gagging every time I go into the kitchen and it's too much!!

Have you got a fan, try and blow the smell out. I think you've covered everything else. You have my deep sympathy because I was cleaning up dog poo at 2:45 on Sunday morning from a stressed dog who had just got back from the kennels.

Can also really recommend the humane mouse traps sold by Amazon, bated with peanut butter Grin

Oooohhh that's a good idea - will grab the one from upstairs.

Have tried loads of different things now.

Candles - expensive ones (Jo Malone & Molten Brown) and cheapy - Ikea citronella - bloody citronella ones doing a better job!!

Air freshener spray stuff - Airwick better than Febreeze and Jo Malone room spray.

So on the back of the above think I will pop to the pound shop and buy the most smelliest things I can!!

Poor dog is in its pen in the garden looking extremely sad. I cannot let her in though, If she pooed again I would have to leave it for DH to clean up when he gets home!!

I am afraid that DH will not countenance being humane with mice - he buys the heavy duty blue grain stuff as he has a phobia - yep 6ft+, 15 stone DH v.s a little fluffy mouse!!!!

I'd second using bio washing powder to clean the surfaces. The Magic Trees smell will linger on and on and on...
