My Sil has a Newfoundland he is 16 weeks old so still a baby albeit a big one. I am living with Sil and when Newfie is not in doggy day care looking after him usually 2-3 days a week she wants him to socialise with other dogs.
Anyway my question is how are your newfies coping with this heat at his day care they are air conditioned and he plays loads comes home absolutely shattered but then today when I am looking after him he sleeps most of the day is this heat or bordom I am worried I am not providing enough stimulation for him he is completely toilet trained can sit, paw, lie down. I know they are clever dogs and i suppose this is what I am worried about he has not chewed anything he shouldn't after about his second week here.
Should I just accept that in this heat he won't want to be pestered or should i try to get him up and about ?

I don't have a Newfie , but have a Swiss mountian dog, who is big and black. He is a year old, gets walked very early and very late.
It's really hot in our house , so he has a cooling jacket on inside. A wet towel to lie on, you can cool it in the freezer, or lie the wet towel over them.
Ice cubes in the water bowl.
After a walk wet his underside with the hose as thi will bring his body temp down.
