someone tell me that I cant possibly adopt a boxer friend for my boxer baby

hes toilet trained, not young, boisterous, loves to play, good with older teens but only cause hes boisterous (my kids are used to Lolly who makes boisterous look like sleeping)

and in need of a home

TrinityRhino Wed 10-Jul-13 11:10:49

i know, he is properly handsomely gorgeous

elfycat Wed 10-Jul-13 11:11:36

You've looked at the page so you are committed now! grin

TrinityRhino Wed 10-Jul-13 11:14:10

oh my god, where are all the sensible people

TheCunnyFunt Wed 10-Jul-13 11:17:41

Aww, lovely boy smile

grin @ 'Big lump who loves to play'

He sounds perfect and I'm sure he'd love to go home with you <innocent whistle>

TrinityRhino Wed 10-Jul-13 11:20:02

holy shit, what are you lot like?

he is perfect
lolly is a big lump who loves to play

she would adore him
and he would be big enough to play properly with her

the kids have no issue with big and boisterous
they laugh off a dog bumping into them and knocking them over

we have a huge garden that is now secure
takes like three hours for me to mow

Mama1980 Wed 10-Jul-13 11:20:04

He's gorgeous grin
I have a dog, 3 cats, a tortoise and fish all from or heading to rescue...I never ever look at the rescue pages grin

TheCunnyFunt Wed 10-Jul-13 11:20:27

Ain't no sensible people here you know wink

TrinityRhino Wed 10-Jul-13 11:22:26

yes we have established that he is gorgeous
now how do I stop thinking about him? grin

TrinityRhino Wed 10-Jul-13 11:22:45

arf @ cunny

mynameisslimshady Wed 10-Jul-13 11:23:59

I think the only way you can stop thinking about him is to go and visit him and see how perfect unsuitable he is for you grin

TrinityRhino Wed 10-Jul-13 11:25:47

bloody hell you lot are useless
I should have put this in AIBU lol

MumnGran Wed 10-Jul-13 11:26:53

One word of caution only your boxer baby trained? ie sits/walks happily on a lead/ recall is good etc.?
If so then I think the rescue has your name written all over him grin
If not, then I would think twice because rescues will need a lot of settling and/or training ....and you really don't want 2 boxers neither of which will do as they are told!! ......the naughty behaviour is infectious, and they feed off each other.

Two dogs together is just wonderful ....they play and have so much fun!!

TrinityRhino Wed 10-Jul-13 11:30:30

lolly is doing very well now
we have sorted the chasing cars ...almost completely wink
she sits, she doesn't beg for food, in fact I hate even being looked at when eating so have worked very hard on that
she loves everyone but doesn't jump up, another pet hate although she jumps up for a standing cuddle with me on command
she is a leetle strong on the lead but I have obedience classes booked for the 16th to help with that
and we live in the middle of nowhere and rarely need her to be on a lead
she runs alongside me on the bike nicely and her
'becoming a teen' fear aggression barking is getting very much under control now

elfycat Wed 10-Jul-13 11:37:17

Sounds like Lolly is grown up enough to enter into this relationship.

I think you'd better print off a picture of him and put it on your fridge with 'Oh but I couldn't' written on it. If after 10 mins a while you still look at that gorgeous boy and want him than it's destiny.

TrinityRhino Wed 10-Jul-13 11:41:20

oh no, I couldn't bear to have a pic on my fridge and not get him
hes is just so beautiful
but I shouldn't, its not sensible

Poledra Wed 10-Jul-13 11:41:21

From the sounds of your garden, you don't need another dog, you need a sheep grin

mynameisslimshady Wed 10-Jul-13 11:45:10

As Albert Einstein said 'Common sense is what tells us the world is flat' grin sense is very overrated imo.

TrinityRhino Wed 10-Jul-13 11:45:24

I might just be really slow mowing lol
I do have to empty the grass by walking to the end of the garden and chucking it over onto the beachy bit ish so that takes a bit of time

TrinityRhino Wed 10-Jul-13 11:46:56

lol mynameis

thats still not helping

spiderlight Wed 10-Jul-13 11:47:52

Oh, he is absolutely gorgeous!! And I bet you'd barely notice he was there except when he came for a snog...big old squidgychops that he is...
