Night-times when recovering from illness

Our 5-month old puppy spent Tuesday night at the vet on a drip after us rushing her down there following a bout of sudden sickness followed by extreme lethargy which turned out to be a section of inflamed bowel. Home yesterday morning and recovering nicely - VERY lively for one that is supposed to be recuperating! She is on Hill's recovery diet food let down with water to keep her well hydrated as she's an infrequent drinker and was dehydrated when we took her to the vet.

Last night I got up each time she whimpered as I figured she could be ill or need a wee as she's been drinking a lot more than she usually does. She got me up at 1.30 and 4.00 and each time I put her back to bed after her wee, she then got me up again at 4.30, obviously didn't need a wee just wanted to snuggle on the sofa! Which I quite enjoyed and am prepared for a couple of nights of disruption and pampering and anxious to take the best care of her, but at the same time don't want to create a bad habit.

Do they sort of go back to normal once they are recovered and back in their normal routines? Normally my reaction to any night whining is ignore but it can get quite vocal. Any advice gratefully received!
