Name suggestions for cocker puppy :-)
(26 Posts)So today we met and picked our newest family member
"She" turned out to be a he in the end (we were not really bothered but our intention was for a bitch) and he comes home in 3 weeks :-)
So now we need a name. He is a working cocker and he is white with lemon patches (very like a mini clumber) So far we have a couple but had planned on bitch names so need inspiration. It needs to be short enough that it is easy to use when working. We normally end up with human names but are not bothered either way. So hit me with your ideas!
Artemis.

Were due to collect our little GSP Arte today at 8 weeks, but very sadly she died before we had the chance.

barney, Leroy, jake, todd, milo, and my 3 year old dd says doggie doo!! and my 5 year year old dd says dribble!!!....
good luck with a name xx
No name suggestions as yet but YAY! Told you it would be ok! Will have a think...
I don't have any useful names to add, but just wanted to say that this time last year (exactly a year tomorrow) we brought home our little black and white working cocker 'belle'. I always thought that people who referred to dogs as if they were humans were a bit mad! My word this little dog has changed our world, I cannot describe the love we have for her.
First few weeks were a bit like having a newborn baby in the house again- but she soon settled down.
Good luck with your new dog, I hope having this new addition will make your family just as happy as having belle has made us. ( agree this sounds like a mental statement but its utterly true!)
Stanley? Mungo? Leo? Toby?

My dog is called sandy. I think that is a good name . Good luck!

Chatting about pets with my ds age 4 on the bus in the week and he told me if he had a dog he'd call it pilot. Thought that was v cute
Wow, thanks guys
Some great names there, a couple of which we have already considered and several more that we currently or formerly had (DS, our current cocker and our Land Rover have all been mentioned )
Front runners from our list at the moment are Gillie, Woody, Ted and Harris.
I also like Toby, Jem and Arty (sadly DH and DS hate Arty )
<sigh> who knew it would be this difficult?! DH is as I write, feverishly riffling through old copies of The Field in search of inspiration :I
PS: so sorry to hear about your pup Algee you must be devastated
Quick update
We have a collar and lead, toys and treats courtesy of DS and a moderately expensive trip to Pets at Home. We also have a name...... Ghillie!
He comes home in 3 weeks and we cannot wait
I wanted to calls ours Toby after our much loved Springer but DD was dead against it, still my favourite spaniel name.
