A bit of a strange question but has anyone got any ball recommendations?! We have a ball obsessed springer and we are getting through balls at a ridiculous rate, the more I throw them the more they disintegrate. We often get through one a walk- and then they split, I have tried several makes but have been tending to get dog balls rather than proper tennis ones.
Any recommendations for a really hard wearing make that will last?!

Dont bother with the dog tennis balls, they dont last. I have a ball obsessed springer too and he used to go through 2 of these sometimes on a walk.

I switched to proper tennis balls from SportsDirect and have restricted them to walks only. We have not had a broken one since.

Definitely proper tennis balls , and as tooearly said , only on walks .my terrier has destroyed a kong air as well . I tend to go for the 2 colour proper tennis balls as they tend to be easier to find when the dog loses it in longer grass.

I use the Kong Airsqueak, and only on walks. They will last a few months unless we lose it in the marsh. Normal tennis balls disintegrate within a walk of two.

I use DH's old proper tennis balls and find them hard wearing. I also have the Kong ones with squeak but only for recall or to get them excited about the normal ball. If I throw a squeaky one for them they run off with their prize squeaking it and won't come back!

pimmsdog can eat a tennis ball in 30 seconds we now use hockey balls. Although you need to watch where you throw them as they are bloody hard when they hit you, don't let the 5 year old DD throw them it hurts Grin

Thank you so much for all the replies, I have ordered proper tennis balls and a Kong one. They are now only reserved for walks as well, as shredded far too quickly otherwise.
Just hoping when they arrive they last a bit longer!!

Yep deffo proper tennis balls. My dog once ate and threw back up a tennis ball! Was a cheapie though and are just used for walks now. Lucy gets donations of old ball from the local tennis club.
