Just that.

Dd is having breakfast, me upstairs. Dogs had gone out first thing and were settled. Dd shouts and says puppy (4.2mths) has had a poo on the floor and it has worms from the garden in it.

He is mostly clean now, so a bit surprised and took what dd said with a pinch of salt. Came down and there was the tiniest amount of poo but a mass of spaghetti looking worms. I am not talking about a few little thread type things, but thick long spaghetti ones. I can honestly say in all my years of working in rescue and with dogs, I have never seen so many in one go. Poor little thing.

When we got him from rescue, I got some three day wormer from the vets, but he only had one sachet, as the following day he was diagnosed with parvo and spent nearly three weeks in the vet. When I picked him up, I asked if they had wormed him and was told yes, they thought it had all been done, but she didn't check and I didn't question it, as we were so relieved he had survived and was going home.

The poor little thing must have been really uncomfortable and must have had them since born. i know he has a vociferous appetite so I had increased his food, maybe that was it.

Wormed today and will do for three days with the puppy womer now. But just to think he had that worm burden is horrid.

I wish too that I had kept them, washed them and put them in a pot of vinegar, they were so impressive, or would that have been just a bit odd?!

Oh poor puppy. Get him checked at the vet as that many large worms might have caused intestinal damage.

And odd to have kept them for sure ! ;)

Yes I am going to give them a ring in the morning. Not sure what they will do, just say keep an eye on him I expect, which obviously I will.

He has been perfectly healthy and well until this and still is.
