Can't wait to get my puppy clipped

I'm sick of people saying he's podgy, he isn't podgy - he was recently weighed at the vets - he's just a cocker spaniel in the middle of shedding his puppy coat.

He's fluffy not podgy - going to get that put on a t-shirt for him.

I have my working cocker clipped but I have found that his coat isn't shiny anymore. It grows back quite rough. The more you clip, the more the coat grows and and then you need to keep having it done.

But what's the alternative for a pet cocker?

Hand stripping isn't an option, I don't have time to do it and few groomers will do it (if they did it would cost £££) and he looks a mess at the moment with basically two coats fighting each other.
