Do your DCs like walking the dog(s)?

Mine 6 and 4 hate it! I am hoping it will be a more attractive activity when the weather warms up...

My 13yr old loves it, I don't get a look in! Although she did ask me to tag along yesterday for company. The older teen only wants to take him anywhere if a) it makes her look cool or b) she needs an excuse to go out ie to buy tobacco

My 12 ds likes to go out with his cousin of similar age and who also has a dog honestly I think they go to the park and meet friends !
My 8 dd is hit and miss depending on how she feels but once out loves to hold his lead and she has a captive audience for her constant chat

Yes, though he did get fed up the other day on a map following 3 1/2 mile hike my uncle took us on round a rather muddy steep sloped Kent. How no one did a face plant in foot deep mud I'll never know

We try and make it fun for them both though too. He races the dog every now and again. We also revisit the same wood once every week or two where we have started a big wigwam style den so we add more fallen branches each week. We have been at it all winter and it is quite big now!

He sometimes moans about the idea of it but is ok once out. He is 7 btw.

7 years old and hates it. We are going to try geocaching tomorrow

My 2 year old DS loves it, he gets to kick balls for them and potter around in the mud

DD enjoys it as long as she can ride her bike (she is 7 so not walking unsupervised yet). She loves taking new dog to puppy classes though, where I am Not Allow To Interfere and must Sit Quietly and Observe .

We love Geocashing, just remember to take little things to swap once you find the treasure, we take small puzzles, small pack of pencil rubbers, yo-yo's etc
That's the only way I can get us all out walking the dog and Geocashing together.

Hmm might try geocaching...mine aren't too bad once we actually get out, but getting out the house is hard. Ds is phobic about mud! So that is a big problem at the moment.

I also have to make sure I don't mix up the kids bribes and the dogs treats, my kids are not that keen on little bits of cheese!

I'm a little jealous of your mud phobic ds Both dog and ds are like heat seeking missiles and race off straight through the thickest gloopiest stuff they can find.

And if my vile poo eating/rolling dog doesn't locate dog poo there is a fair chance ds will!

My 20 yr old wont walk him because he won't pick up poo , but he will take him for a drive which usually includes a trip to the Macdonalds drive thru ,so a happy dog. My daughter would love to walk him but can't for medical reasons .

Good job really as I have an energetic border collie, and i have an aversion to been cooped up for more than 3 hours at a time
We've had a great morning at the local national trust property, walking the dog, talking to random old people, feeding the ducks and we even managed a bit if paddling in the lake
We also saw a wedding party, how glad was I the dog was in his best behaviour
