I posted here a couple of weeks ago saying my dog was weeing on his bed at hight and sometimes in the house.
We took him to the vet who examined him and sent urine off for analysis. Many thanks by the way to who ever suggested the ladle method of urine collection.
The only comment from the urine exam was that his urine was very dilute. They recommended stopping him eating left overs as the food may be salty and causing him to drink too much water. We did this and the weeing over night has not happened since.
However yesterday he weed on the floor on the way to the door in the morning.
Today even though he had been let out in the garden last thing he weed on the floor on the way to the door. A couple of hours later he did exactly the same thing. It was a large ammount of wee then I watched him in the garden and he did another long wee not just a little sprey to mark his patch.
Looks to me that he can't concentrate his urine.
Does anyone have a dog with DI? I guess another trip to the vet is in order?

Dilute urine can be caused by a variety of conditions DI being one of the least common. A blood sample to check for hypothyroidism would be a good start other causes include cushings disease.

Oh yes meant to say initial blood sample should check kidney function too.
