He's getting worse. Not better. He spent the entire weekend crying and whinging and jumping up on me and/or chewing things he should not chew.
Dh won't train him and I work too many hours to spend loads of time training and loads of time walking and doing college and training Devil Dog to get through his bronze award/get me through college.
She already knows how to train "down" so will be working on that with him tonight. We've decided to train him between us. I'll spend 20 minutes each morning before his walk training him. We'll d0 20 minutes training him together after school and she will do 20 minutes on an evening with him while I am at work.
Are there any books simple enough for her to read and follow? She's 8 and a fairly good reader but they'd need to be in short chapters, she gets bored quickly and tends to be reading 6 books at a time, if they're too long she looses patience and starts another book.
She understands positive training and DH will be supervising her training him. He is not in anyway aggressive, he's just a pain in the arse.
It's "settle" and "bed" and "wait" and "give it/drop it" I really need him to learn, but we are starting simple and building up slowly because she alreadu knows how to train "down" and puppy already knows "sit". She understands not to attempt to do any training with the Devil Dog.
I'm also going to show her a few mind games she could play with him to keep his little mind ticking over and try and tire him out. I though hiding a treat under a plastic cup and seeing how long it takes him to get it out would be a good one. Any other simple games she could play with him?

I have one MAJOR word of warning.
One of our local fosters did this. She still fosters. She had 3 dogs. Her daughter (now 15) has two of her own as well 
, she didn't wnat to two of the ones she's trained go and he mum was a wuss!
DS is 9 he enjoyed flicking through Gwen Baily. He found the pictures very helpful, as it breaks down what you are doing and why in stages.
It's more sound bitey - and has given a better grasp of why puppys do what puppys do.
She will not be keeping him.
If there was any dog we'd keep it would be him but I can't afford to insure a third dog atm 
My Dad adores him. He went so far as to tell my mum that I was planning on having the puppy pts if he didn't find a home by the next evening. She told him she didn't believe him and then spent the entire evening texting every one she knew begging them to adopt the puppy 
She later managed to get in touch with me at work and made me promise not to kill the puppy. Like I ever would!
