my 10m.o. Pup hasbeen in the wars. he has had loads of stitches in his head from surgery 10 days ago. now a seroma has developed which means theere is swelling along the sutures. Does anyone know anything and can help? He is a very active pointer so needs to run free. If i walk him on the lead, he just goes crazy when he gets off the lead at home zooming around, jumping over the sofa, etc. I want to keep him calm but even with much effort, it doesnt seem to be working. vet gave him sedatives but that seems to have no impact either. big sigh....reaching for my Rescue Remedy...

Seromas usually resolve over a period of time and shouldn't be a major concern. I'm not so sure how being active would really affect his head area too much, usually that is more of a problem with wounds on the body. If you think there is an issue with his activity level then allow him into the garden (on a lead) only for toileting and then back in the house and no exercise at all for a short while until things settle. Any concern about the seroma then your vet should take a look.
