Sad

A couple are interested and they got in before my mum and dad did. The rescue don't feel it would be fair to place her with my mum and dad just because they know us when this couple enquired about her first.

They are havinga home check on Sunday and if all goes well my lovely doggy will be starting her two week trial with them.

This is both good and bad. I'll miss her, but really wanted her settled somewhere nice before we went away (in three weeks) so she didn't have to go back into kennels. Also if she is a permanant home and it all works out, then the rescue have space to save another dog.

I am probably going on the homecheck so I get to meet them. I'll be insisting they email me regularly with updates and photos Grin

thats great thats he has found someone. Was just going to link to the sweetest foster grey that a friend of mine has as a possible for your parents, but looking on the website he has found a home, which is also great.
You can have a whole new exciting doggy adventure soon and help another grey find their home. Grin is all good. I would make them sign a contract about the photos and updates. Wink

Don't forget, you want Christmas cards from your grey.
And photos of her in Reindeer Antlers for greyhounds Grin

That's great news for her. I had said I would possibly be interested but hadn't yet plucked up the courage to broach the subject of a second dog with DH as the dc have been so manic; he'd probably laugh hysterically before refusing point blank.

Hope everything goes well and you're not too heartbroken!

ohhhh, I'm glad in a way and also very sorry. But if this home works out well, you could go on greyhound playdates together or have greyhound sleepovers and stuff. We do this with one of our ex foster greys - have made a good friend of her new owner who is lovely and adores her. She often sends us pics and we coo over them proudly. It's actually very handy too to have someone who knows your dog well, as you can do dogsitting for each other if you need a night away or so on.

Erm, I'm not sure any one would be mad enough to offer to dog sit the Devilish one Grin. I wouldn't trust anyone with him other my Dad or the kennels we use anyway.

But yes, it's good that she has a home to go to and that the rescue are able to help another dog now.

Well she went. And now she is coming back. It's very sad that her home didn't work out, but I am very pleased to be seeing her again. I don't know why the trial failed yet. I'll find out when they bring her back.

DH will be pleased when he gets home. He was very sad to see her go. We even had to go on a family dog walk, he rarely walks the dogs with me. I always do it alone.

Ooh, does this mean your parents could now potentially adopt her? Grin

Yes it does. They said she was utterly miserable without other dogs, so they felt it was unfair to keep her.

My mum is now on a campaign to adopt an oldie, but I'm sure we could change her mind.
