I have tried to use the bags inside out method but it just makes me boak too much and I am now thinking I need a 'contraption' of some kind which means that I dont need to feel the poo at all. Can anyone recommend any kind?
Thanks.

i use the poo bags from the 99p shop. you get 200 for er 99p grin. i like using these as they are black and fairly thick. i also feed my dogs a good quality dried food so poos are solid and not really smelly.

a friend uses the long handled poop scoop from pets at home. with this method you dont have to 'touch' the poo. think it cost £10

We've got the scoops branded with pedigree from P@H, apart from them snapping over time and having to be repaired with duct tape (everything in my life, including my car seems to be held together with duct tape), they've been pretty good - especially when you have a dog like ours with intermittent diahorrea meaning you're scraping squits off the grass with residents of AIBU tut-tutting and inspecting you've got every last squirt behind you.

I was just going to say Pets At Home! One of my fellow rescue volunteers bought a pretty sturdy looking poop scoop over when we were there recently, similar to the ones the rescue itself uses and we can't source any more. Cost her £10, comes in 2 parts which you have to snap together and have to be a little careful in doing, but works a treat.

PAH is miles from where I live. I had to make a 2 bus special journey there last week in order to buy specialist food for our frog and planned to buy a poop scoop whilst I was there.

Guess what I forgot... ? <<bangs head on desk>>

I got one of these but they're only really useful for "solids." Sorry if tmi!

I use free bags from the council, I try not to look too much, and definitely hold my breath.

I've got one of these...

it's over 12 years old and still going, despite not having any duct tape...

I bought a Grab n Bag waste scooper from Just for pets, it's £6.15, small enough to put in a carrier bag and take out with you, I personally can cope with just a pooh bag, but My DS can't cope with look or smell of offending dog poop! So I bought it so he can walk dogs.

You put the bag over the scooper squeeze the handles pick up poop in jaws release handles and then pull bag over scooper and tie it up.

it's at the bottom of the page.

Any bags without holes in them!! Nappy bags are ok. They smell awful though!
