Dd2 decided she wanted to walk in the woods with me. All went fine until the grey got spooked by a bin lid slamming and backed out of her collar. I was told she'd never done this before. She came back as soon as I called her, which is surprising as I was told her recall was very unreliable.

Things went fine after that, until, halfway home dd2 decided to pull down her pants in the middle of the park and start peeing on the grass Shock.

Obviously I could not walk off and leave her. Devil Dog took this as his chance to do the most giant poo you have ever seen. Just to make things more interesting half a dozen dogs appeared from around the corner.

Now the grey has realised she can just walk backwards out of her collar. Dd2 was still squatting with her pants round her ankles. I still have an untied bag of shit in one hand.

The grey loves chasing other dogs, it is what she lives for. It's all in play, she is a failed racer and has no aggression in her. She does not wish to tear smaller dogs apart, she just wants to run, but that is not the point.

I am desperetly trying to cling onto her, whilst trying not to cover myself in dog shit, when the whippy one, who has never, ever, in the whole year we have owned her slipped her collar, decided she's had enough and ran off to play with a cavvie Shock

Of course she came back each time I called her, but I still have an untied bag of shit in one hand. The Devil Dog's lead under my foot and I am trying to cling onto the grey. Dd2 still has her pants around her ankles, so before I can re-collar Whippy she runs off again. And then comes back when she is called. And then runs off again.......

Eventually dd2 pulled her pants up and I managed to get whippy by the scruff of her neck, while dd2 re-collared her. Still clinging onto the grey.

A woman with a bloody labrador came to ask if she could help. I did not see her coming as I was too busy containing Whippy. Off the grey runs, chasing the lab. The lab fortunately had excellent recall and she followed him back. The woman re-collared the grey for me, while I apologised profusely and wibbled a lot.

All the while, my devil dog, the most worst behaved dog I have, laid down and stayed,as he had been told to. I did not notice my foot had slipped off his lead and he could have ran at any point, but didn't Shock

I am never walking them with dd2 again. When we are moving I can distract the grey from other dogs, with simple games. It's when we are stood still waiting for dd2 to finishing behaving like an animal that the trouble starts. Whippy gets excited when she see's other dogs, but not normally more than over exuberant body wagging.

Yes, they should arrive within 5 working days. Until then I am walking the hounds seperately, since they obviously need a very close eye keeping on them around the other dogs. I have no idea what got into whippy, she has never done that before. She will run upto other off leash dogs when she is loose and say hello but always comes back when is called.

Mind you when she is deliberately off leash, I have treats in my hand, not dog shit Hmm

I have to say, that knowing we're (eventually - allegedly) getting a grey... the collar slip thing is my worst nightmare!

Why do they always act up when you're mid dog-shit manouver?!
