How long does a staff dog normally live for?

Ours is 8 and was wondering how long they normally live for?

I imagine they last for between 11 and 16 years. I expect 16 would be very old.

Mine is 9 and in fine fettle, hope we have plenty of years left to come. Our last two dogs made 17 and 16 respectively so I'm hoping Porridge will live to a ripe old age too.

I think the breed standard is between 10 and 12 years although some do live much longer. The ones that make it to 15 and 16 are not common. OldBoy died aged 12 but he had a hidden tumour.... he would have lived a lot longer otherwise (hope that isn't stating the obvious(!!!) but in terms of sprightliness he seemed about 6 or 7).
