...you'll like this article about a lab being returned to the Australian Defence Force "a bit overweight" even after spending 14 months lost in Afghanistan!
Found this quite amusing after finding my 6 month old lab with the flip top of the kitchen bin stuck on her head this morning after she had been sprung foraging for leftovers.

So it's not only MY dog which has done that then? Only in my case it wasn't my Lab, who is FAR too discerning, but my German Shepherd, who was caught moseying around the kitchen trying to look oh-so-innocent whilst wearing the bin's flip top like a necklace. :o

It goes to show how wrong those who believe all the tosh about breed traits can be!

We are doing some building work and my lab is very keen to help - eating the plaster board! He doesn't tend to chew these days (18 months old) but he finds plaster board just too tempting. Board now covered to lab proof it.

Valhalla my German Shepherd is the same and with the added bonus of being bright enough to work things out such as bread bins and float top bins. My friends black lab is very picky really not interested in scraps at all.

Not got a lab but I do have a Beagle which also only think about their bellies

She started a vet plan diet Monday due to being a bit overweight (needs to lose a few kg) all started well, she actually gets more dry food then we used to weight out, one meal for breakfast, one for dinner and the leftovers (around 35 dry pieces) for treats throughout the day (we give them in the kitchen when shes begging to lick the plates).

So she had her new diet breakfast Monday, seemed to like it. Took her to the field for her walk and she goes off the lead (shes allowed, shes generally good and always returns when called) apart from Monday....when she foun 1/4 of a french baguette, which she ate with the biggest grin on her face as we chased after her.

At least it was brown bread
