Nina & The Neurons

Why is one of Nina's Neurons (Luke) Jamaican or maybe Ghanaian? All the others are from her native Scotland. Is he perhaps the token Neuron?

haha I was wrong:

Luke is the sight neuron. He's the group leader, but in a very laid back and relaxed fashion. He is very cool!
Belle is the sound neuron. Her character is quite loud and slightly bossy, but still likeable.
Felix is the touch neuron. He is slightly sensitive, speaks in a deliberate, posh accent. Fussy about his appearance, he regularly fixes his hair.
Ollie is the smell neuron. She is very sweet, self assured and a bit of a goth. Though her little brother, Bud, can bug her at times, she loves him dearly.
Bud is the taste neuron. He is the baby of the bunch, and talks in a slightly childlike manner. Bud oozes enthusiasm and is easily excited by whatever is going on.

I always get really annoyed by Nina's neurons. I mean, they're Nina's neurons - they should all be female and Scottish, shouldn't they? Unless she's some weird chimera, which, come to think of it...

Doesn't Luke have an accent because "Luke" only sounds like "look" if you say it in a Jamaican accent? Just like Baby (taste) Bud, Feel-ix, Belle (bell) and Olly (olfactory). Just very poor puns!

And I still say that they should all be girls as they would all have two X chromosomes!

I can never work out whether the one of them is supposed to be Jamaican or Geordie or perhaps both? It never settles as an accent IFSWIM? Just sounds bad.
