Is anyone watching this bizarre programme on ITV about 4 slebs who are going for a week to live with poor people?

WTF is the point of it? OK I'm mumsnetting at the saem time so not concentrating properly, but apart from being v. depressed about it all, I'm not actually sure what these slebs are supposed to be doing there? I missed the beginning, someone tell me what's with this?

Trinny appears to be doing well but I need to know if she's had some kind of lip injections.

I watched some of this too and agree, what is the point!?

Poor people

It'd be good if they did Kerry Katona and the Duchess of York.

was on last week

the celebsare trying to do some good

but tbh what can they achieve in one week?

why is mel b going to gymevery day - the mum doesnt and she is meant to be taking her role

well done trinny for starting to sort out new housing

think the one making most effort is keith allen

GhoulishFan · 28/10/2009 14:32

Mel b really hacked me off - why should she be able to get a taxi fare off the crew and a £100 worth of laundrette money... the mum simply couldn't EVER do that

It's utterly unrealistic in that house.

I think trinny and that allen bloke are good - trinny had a good idea about the shop mobility and housing and I like Mr Allen taking no crap off that kid!

It made me laugh that Trinny spent all of this week's episode wearing a Louis Vuitton scarf that I know for a fact costs £420. Trying hard to fit in and feel empathy for the household she's joined............

(Actually, I like Trinny a lot but it did make me laugh a bit!)

Keith Allen seems to be doing some good stuff, interesting choice for the prog and he isn't really noted for his parenting skills..

Agree Mel B doesn't really seem to be getting it. Not being able to live without the gym for a week is a bit sad.

watched it last night

MelB is as motivational as a bag of porridge

could not believe she went off to the gym when the young girl was barring her way and clinging to her

she has paid out for taxis, asda shop and £100 service wash, so she has hardly been doing what is done in reality

keith allen , on the other hand is bloody marvellous, non patronsiing, and really cares

trinny is just hilarious

the point that really hit home , is that people don't know what help there is and how to access it or how to communicate with the powers that be

e.g christine did not know about shopmobility

not sure what the point is though.

the apathy and overwhelming sense of their being no point is so sad thoguh

Mel B is coming across as a complete idiot isn't she? As if she's never had a normal life, just grew up a diva. Surely she was normal once, before the spice girls?

Interesting that Keith Allen looks as though he is doing so well considering what a crap father he was.

What really depressed me was that young man's absolute lack of comprehension that he was responsible for his dog's shit. KA might as well have been telling him to go and experiment in the kitchen to see if he could find a cure for cancer. The idea of personal responsibility was utterly foreign to him.

yes, but i think that is part of the apathy, what's the point of picking up the dog poo, when it iwll poo again and the house and area are crap anyway?

was keith allen a crap dad?

There is something about Keith Allen...... maybe that explains why he has got so many kids with different mums! I really like him. Mel is a diva, its a bloody farce, tight git, why didnt she pay for the taxis herself? she must be worth a fortune. I bet she has so much help at her home. Common as muck she is as well! I love Trinny, Im sure shes genuine. I think she has had her lips done for awhile now. I dont get the guy, who is he anyway? he seems abit wet to me.

Just watched it on sky plus.

Trinny's lips!!

Agree about Mel B and the gym. She could go for a run when kids in bed if she's that bothered.

What I don't get though is that you can get scourers and cream cleaner for about 30p in Asda so why are their houses so effinf filthy??

Wonder if Mel B will pay off the doorstep debt?

Get the tv company to pay you mean!! dont forget she will be getting a big fat fee for doing the show as well. She only joined the mum at that gym because she got a free membership, the way she said it, you would think she was going to pay for it. As anyone would go to a gym 45 minutes away when they dont have any transport and cant afford the bus fare. I find it hard to go and, its a five minute walk!

LuluM - apparantly so. According to Lily anyway, I think she's written songs about it.

Mel B came across really well in Ep 1 but as others have said she let the side down this week. Also all that washing she did, I bet the crew pitched in and helped as there was loads of it!

I think Austin is doing really well and he seems to be making a good impression on the boys. Although the bit in the park with the footie just made me so ....

They should make them do it for a year and genuinely take access to all their money away. That would be a programme worth watching. Then we could vote at the end of the year on who gets to be eaten.

I also agree about Mel B and the gym. But, to be fair, I would never go for a run after dark in Harehills!

She could do a Davina workout on DVD!

As ever UQD comes up with the best idea .

I think Mel B comes across as a prat. All that parading around in luminous tracksuits and saying 'Hiya!' to oblivious lollipop ladies.

Very surprised at how human Trinny comes across. After her strange behaviour on Celebrity Apprentice a few years back I thought she would be a complete diva. I think she has connected really well with her lady.

Keith Allen - fair play to the bloke for getting stuck in and cleaning that woman's filthy cupboards. And he was very sweet with the little kids making them pizza, and playing with a keyboard.

Austin Healy really seems to have engaged with those two lads. I felt very sorry for the mum in epidose one, she seemed on the edge.

agree about KA and melb.

sorry to lower the tone, but i wanted to ask... did my eyes deceive me or or did trinny actually empty a commode down the kitchen sink, at one point??

Report
GetOrfMoiLand · 29/10/2009 17:36

Yes she did. Gawd only knows why she didn't empty it down the loo.

ouch, you lot are judgemental tonight, i love Mel B.

Mel B brought the family a gym membership.

The lollipop lady DID know who she was.

Keith Allen cannot stop swearing(wonder where Lily get's it from)

Was thinking of her running along in luminous tracksuit with entire film crew following her!

Failing that she could borrow the pooing dog from the other family Nice and safe..
