If he can stop a man in the street, put him in a trance and take £5000, then he might as well take control of the country! Is this real?

LevitatingCopy Fri 02-Oct-09 21:53:14

No - he's the irritating little shit in the playground who says 'okay, stare into my eyes and choose bullshit option A, B, C or D' - then runs away going 'hee hee, was it E all along, or was it Z????'

with no further explanation and expects you to find it entertaining. (All with the benefit of TV studios, actors etc etc, so no magic necessary.)

EmNotPGYet Fri 02-Oct-09 22:06:21

But it didn't wory! Hee hee!

hocuspontas Fri 02-Oct-09 22:07:02

So what happened at the end? I was distracted by a game I was playing on the laptop and looked up and the credits were rolling.

Monkeytrews Fri 02-Oct-09 22:09:26

No he isn't. He's great. But they are tricks not magic, or any other tomfoolery. Enjoy it though

GhostWriter Fri 02-Oct-09 22:10:48

He's very funny.

trellism Fri 02-Oct-09 22:11:14

No, he's a magician. His job is to deceive you.

TheFallenMadonna Fri 02-Oct-09 22:11:30

Ha! I teach A level psychology, and I swear half my students are doing it because they want to be Derren Brown grin

Monkeytrews Fri 02-Oct-09 22:19:12

precisely Trell (not siure if i spet thaT RIGHT. educatuon wsted andc all that..

LevitatingCopy Fri 02-Oct-09 22:19:16

MT - but I genuinely don't get what there is to enjoy - the deal is that he sets everything up so he can snigger at how clever he is, and doesn't let anyone in on the joke.

Monkeytrews Fri 02-Oct-09 22:20:41

hmm Tfm with the big boiobies. I supsect yo are xcorrect, but is un alkso a good chat up line whomever saex tyou are seduicing

OurLadyOfPerpetualSupper Fri 02-Oct-09 22:27:33

I was distracted by -- mn-- my novel, but the last thing I heard was 'I'm really sorry, I've lost your money' - then a tv person was saying 'don't worry, he'll get your money back'
.
Ds reckons that's the end of the series.

Is that what they call post-modern irony?
We're supposed to laugh because the ending was not what we expected, and the poor sap apparently lost his cash.

LevitatingCopy Fri 02-Oct-09 22:34:39

Why oh why are we supposed to think this is clever and entertaining <stamps foot> He might be clever, he might not, what fucker would know as he's hidden behind a slew of tv production and 'mysteriousness'. So what IS the point?

LevitatingCopy Fri 02-Oct-09 22:36:46

He is the Gordon Brown of the Magic Circle

LevitatingCopy Fri 02-Oct-09 22:38:04

perhaps he's a relation

Monkeytrews Fri 02-Oct-09 22:39:43

you just made me think of quorn. is DB a veggie?

wingandprayer Fri 02-Oct-09 22:43:40

All this buggering it up and getting it wrong for this TV series, it's part of a bigger distraction I reckon. There's something else afoot. Why would he destroy a successful albeit annoying career for a couple of ill thought out unsuccessful stunts?

LevitatingCopy Fri 02-Oct-09 22:47:03

So that everyone will think he's extra clever and mysterious (and er, possibly endowed with vegetarian powers ??)

Monkeytrews Fri 02-Oct-09 22:47:50

are you talking about DB or GB?

I think ther formers are assured - but that's only cos I thin the latter cant wauit till he;s oot of it! Bless him. Who whould be a fucking politician now when the oppostion literally is the media - andrew marr and all the corruyptiopn that entails.

Monkeytrews Fri 02-Oct-09 22:48:21

is

LevitatingCopy Fri 02-Oct-09 22:54:39

Perhaps GB and DB could do a job swop

LevitatingCopy Fri 02-Oct-09 22:55:55

hmmmmmm

wingandprayer Fri 02-Oct-09 22:57:02

LOL @ Monkeytrews. My stunning political insight crept up on me.

Mr Marr on the other hand will live to regret certain probing questuions. Glass houses, big legal privacy bricks.

PfftTheMagicDragon Fri 02-Oct-09 22:57:32

He's really a nobbin

wingandprayer Fri 02-Oct-09 23:00:32

Now who on this list of all bloody nobbins are you specifically referring to Pfft?
