I am.

It's riveting stuff - truly awful, but i can't tear myself away.

All those poor, poor people.

I'm the same Dee, sat here in tears, but can't tear myself away either. When the second plane struck, and the girl was screaming I jumped so much that one of the twins booted meblush

I am watching it too. Its so upsetting but for some reason, I am still sat here on my own watching it.

5inthebed Mon 07-Sep-09 21:40:55

I'm watching it as well. It's one of those moments in my life when I can remember exactly what I was doing.

Those poor people sad

I jumped and got a boot, too Dizzy.

You can't imagine it, can you? And all those people who felt they had no choice but to jump sad

kid Mon 07-Sep-09 21:45:00

I didn't see the phonecall one that was on last night.
It doesn't matter how many times I see it or how long ago it happened, the shock never goes away.

SlartyBartFast Mon 07-Sep-09 21:46:33

why are they showing this all now? it is 8 years. i spose it is easier to watch now that previously but i still don't undertstand the significance

SlartyBartFast Mon 07-Sep-09 21:46:47

or is in 9 years?

ElfOnTheTopShelf Mon 07-Sep-09 21:47:15

I have seen this before, it was on More4 I think. I actually had to turn it off half way through, it was just too uncomfortable to watch. I know its not something to block out or forget, but I couldn't stop getting choked up watching it.

SlartyBartFast Mon 07-Sep-09 21:47:26

nope, it is 8 years.

dizzymare Mon 07-Sep-09 21:48:15

I guess in their mind, it was that or burn to deathsad. Cannot imagine how you make that call.

its 8 yrs this year

FlyMeToDunoon Mon 07-Sep-09 21:49:16

These programmes are good because the human reactions are so real.

SlartyBartFast Mon 07-Sep-09 21:50:28

i wondered if they were showing it now because it is Ramadam at the moment, when it isnt ordinarily, so less chance of repucussions?

Deemented Mon 07-Sep-09 21:51:16

I think they are showing it now because it'll be September 11th on Friday..

dizzymare Mon 07-Sep-09 21:52:01

It doesn't finish until gone 11, not sure I can watch it for that long.

NotanOtter Mon 07-Sep-09 21:52:38

flymetodunoon yes i said that to dp...the woman who said ' i think it could be chairs falling from the window'
i read that as being human nature doing its best to protect her from the horror she was observing. she had to make sense of the 'jumpers' but did not want it to be what she thought it was. So human nature gave her an alternative to believe. A plausible alternative . One that was bearble

Deemented Mon 07-Sep-09 21:54:37

Oh god... those people hanging out the window, desperately hoping for rescue...

FlyMeToDunoon Mon 07-Sep-09 21:55:28

God those operators hanging up ust feel awful now

5inthebed Mon 07-Sep-09 21:55:54

Those 911 call operators must have felt awful, having told all those people to stay in their offices.

SlartyBartFast Mon 07-Sep-09 21:56:43

do they normally show programmes about it on every anniversary and i ahve just missed them?
