Haven't seen it yet (or have I?? When was it on? Was that the one yesterday with him painting some woman's face and taking photos??) but it might be OK

It's just started (sorry, was getting over-excited)
The weather girl's a bit weird...

Haven't seen it, but have set it up to record today's episode. Perhaps I will watch it later .

It's very odd!

Justin in drag? Who is this aimed at?

Report
Katkinso · 07/09/2009 20:51

To be perfectly honest I am steering well clear of this because that Justin irritates the hell out of me. I tolerate him on Something Special because he's signing and is obviously doing very worthwhile work, which is a positive programme for kids etc etc BUT there's just something about him I find excrutiating - I bet he has no social/sex life!!!!!

I have watched it for the last two nights and think that it is too old for my LO who is nearly 2. It's a bit too sophisticated for her I think. I preferred the programming the way it was, and also 64 zoo lane, charlie and lola after ITNG. I get a bit annoyed with the way some programmes are repeated morning and evening too. Timmy Time is my absolute favourite though.

It's great - ds is nearly 7 and loves that kind of real life people as opposed to annimation / slapstick combination

Do you know what I think?

I think Justin has found some pictures of the head of cbeebies in a compromising position and so he can ask for whatever shitarse show he wants and they have to let him, even if it is way beyond cbeebies viewers.

Man, he annoys me though. And he is all over cbeebies radio as well, ruins my breakfast coffee no end.

Agree that Timmy Time is awesome.

At least Sarah Jane Simperknickers isn't in it as she made me want to throw things at the telly. However rubbish I think Gigglebiz is, my 3 and 5 y os think it is hilarious (also see chuckle brothers)!

Unfortunately for me ever since I had a simply filthy dream about Mr Tumble and Andrew Marr I blush evry time Justin is on telly!!!!

EE precisely - you really don't want the mental scarring images I have been left with! In my defence I was asleep and fizzing with those randy pregnancy hormones!

Personally I hate it. think it's a pile of poo.

DH & DS1 (3) OTOH seems to really like it

think i will be subjected to it whenever DH is around at bedtime (thankfully not often).

I am probably missing something here, but how is my LO meant to find a pisstake of a news reader or a weathergirl when she has never seen the real thing? She only ever watches Cbeebies fgs. I think it would be more suitable on cbbc. And it appears to be on every night. gnnn. Is cbeebies the only children's channel? I would definitely turnover if there was something else on...

For some reason it reminds me of Benny Hill. That is not a good thing.

theyoungvisiter · 09/09/2009 09:40

well my DS1 watched 2 minutes of one episode and ran screaming from the room. He now goes into hysterical sobbing if even a trailer appears and calls it "that scary programme".

I have to concur.

Quite Sarf. I had to explain to DD1 what an antique was.
Grandad (FIL) was not an Antique (over smothered giggles from DH)

Then I had to explain the jokes, that were read out by children who quite obviously would be watching cbbc. It's too old for cbeebies. DD2 is nearly 2, she lost interest completely.
So another reason to turn the telly off.

It does however mean that we have a natural break for dinner, instead of trying to squeeze it in during Mr Maker, so Justin, thanks for that.
I wonder how many episodes they have made...

My LO really likes this and my DH thinks it's fab! We do think that Justin is a Wannbe "Little Britain" with this show...

Personally, I want to hate it because Justin is starting to get up my nose, (is he trying to gain world domination???)however, i do find myself smiling at some of the jokes. Not sure the 'Dame' should be pushing her Boob on the side! Quite Les Dawson.
Aurther Sleep or Ronnie Barker!?
Many 'Benny Hill' characters (thankfully not chasing bikini clad women!)
I do think it should be aired on CBBC. My son is 10 and daughter 8 and they love it and understand the slapstick.
Justin, you should stick to Mr Tumble on cbeebies, much more appropriate.

My three/nearly four year old thinks it is the best thing ever. Thomas the Tank/Mister Maker etc etc has been consigned to history. This is sadly what he waits for all day to watch and talks about the characters incessantly. I can't get it myself but I suppose I am not the target audience.

been watching Gigglebiz for the past couple of days, tho whilst I agree its not really of cbeebies appropriate at some of the jokes, I love it. so does ds tho, especially Rapids Johnston.

Actually I would prefer to watch this than most of the 'humourous' programs designed for adults.

It think it's great! Great to see an... actor with no shame. The drag is hilarious! Bit disconcerted when Justin in the green shirt with the long hair is actually him and not dressed up him though

I think the 'Big Fun Time' which runs from 3.30-6pm is meant for slightly older children than CBeebies is aimed at in the day.

I love it, as does my 8 year old

Report
TAFKAtheUrbanDryad · 28/09/2009 13:04

CBeebies should just be renamed "The Justin Fletcher Channel".

I wonder if "Big Fun Time" is aimed at the school-aged kids who have just got in, IYSWIM, whereas "Discover and Do" is more for the littlies. Certainly my ds (2.8) prefers "Discover and Do" over BFT. Which is a pity as Cerrie and Alex make me want to kill things.
