There must be a very good reason why he is, it seems, going to "predict" the lottery results only minutes (or even seconds) before it actually happens.

After all, there's no way you can - it's not like a fruit machine where experts can wait by a machine and know it is about to pay out.

There is just as much chance of balls 1 2 3 4 5 6 coming out as 1 12 21 33 40 49.

I'm wondering if it will be anything like his horse-racing scam, where he covered all potential outcomes but only showed us the "right" ones. But with something like 48 million combinations of 6 balls (or is it 48 billion? I can never remember) he will have his work cut out!!

course it'll be a scam - there's no way he can ACTUALLY do it

I find him exceptionally irritating - all this pretending he's some superhero

Doesn't the trailer just say "predict the lottery" rather than "lottery results"?

no-one can out-derren-derren!

I concur with the scam - it's making us think he has predicted it - rather than actually predicting it - I am reminded of the system (horse racing) thing as well wher he flipped ten consequetive heads - we all went 'Oooo!' and then he showed us edited highlights of the NINE HOURS of filming it took to get ten in a row. he's very dedicated to his profession!

I think he will get 5 out of 6 and the 'wrong' one will be the bonus ball.

He doesn't pretend to be a superhero, he has alwasy said he has no 'powers' he is just a very skilled entertainer.

He will aslo be showing a 'how i did it' show on Friday.

He says that in the new series he will be literally leaving some viewers stuck to thier sofas. I am going to watch that, i dont mind being stuck to the sofa as long as DP is being fast and loose with the Tea.

My sister thinks he is the actual Devil.

I met Derren (briefly) once. Utterly charming, intelligent, slightly flirtatious and simply wonderful. So I have no option but to watch, he subliminally told me to.

I saw hi on TV, he was in a theatre blindfolded, picking people out the audience at random and knowing stuff about them.

How does he do that?

Dh and I woud really like to know.

Ta.

Yes, his whole modus operandi is that "powers" don't exist, and it is all clever trickery.

Report
mayorquimby · 08/09/2009 16:05

and then he'll let you know how he did it. his books are great and thought me a lot of good tricks.

I think if he does possess any special "gift" it's a strong eidetic memory. This is a great tool for doing "mind-reading" type illusions.

don't like him myslef and it has nothing to do with the fact he's gay.

I also wonder if he is the Devil. LOL. Either way i think he is delving into things way too much for his own good. He has learned how the mind works and i think that is a dangerous thing for any human and something we are not supposed to know. Also for some reason i cant help but want to watch. Develish!!

Please tell me he isn't gay

He has successfully fooled me into imagining believing he is heterosexual

Yes I came back on the same plane as him and his bf from Venice last month. They looked very happy.

All the best men are gay.. he's fab and terribly flirty. I love the fact that he tells you how he did everything, and it's all so flaming obvious! I always kick myself I didn't notice!

I saw him live last year. Heaven knows how he did some of the 'mind reading' stuff in the show.
