I have a feeling this is going to be awful actually, they are focusing on lone parents

Just starting on C4 now.

expatinscotland Thu 20-Aug-09 21:02:11

Oh, yes, target lone parents and not the non-resident partner who swanned off.

Fucking misogynistic bullshit.

expatinscotland Thu 20-Aug-09 21:03:19

Privitise it! Yep.

Just like the US.

You want their crime stats to go with it?

My parents just got back from Portland, Oregon, and were stunned about the numbers of beggars on the street there.

A "confidence-boosting course"? shock

With the Bride of Satan?

Blimey, this looks awful...

TwoIfBySea Thu 20-Aug-09 21:05:27

Its nice to see that Pauline from Royston Vasey JobCentre is still working though.

expatinscotland Thu 20-Aug-09 21:05:39

Yeah, we're together. For me to make more money.

Not a peep about the non-resident parent.

BitOfFun Thu 20-Aug-09 21:07:02

It's like something out Soviet Russia...

expatinscotland Thu 20-Aug-09 21:07:13

why don't you ask them where the non-resident parent is and what he's contributing?

watching with intrest, but better money spent on finding those that fruad the system

i'd slap her shock if she spoke to me like that

expatinscotland Thu 20-Aug-09 21:08:48

so get in their faces and make them feel even worse about themselves!

and this gal looks like she's getting off on it!

5inthebed Thu 20-Aug-09 21:10:34

Just started watching it, Miss Polkadots seems a bit harsh

pattymc Thu 20-Aug-09 21:11:02

She's like a tarty female David Brent

expatinscotland Thu 20-Aug-09 21:11:15

what a great message to give out during a recession.

on yer bike is how a lot of these people got where they are in the first place.

not a word about the non-resident parent.

and let's see them addressing childcare issues for the 7-year-olds when Mum takes the job in Tesco and they want her on nights and weekends.

ilove Thu 20-Aug-09 21:12:14

Blimey now she is insinuating she is an alkie...

cheeky bitch! is it only a glass of wine?! have you have a drink this morning? talk about how to make someone feelmlike shit

blissa Thu 20-Aug-09 21:12:44

I think she's just been added to the list of people I'd like to slap

5inthebed Thu 20-Aug-09 21:12:51

Dear me, she is very harsh isn't she!

BitOfFun Thu 20-Aug-09 21:13:10

pmsl pattymc

expatinscotland Thu 20-Aug-09 21:13:10

why assume she's had a drink?

because they're all alcohlics and druggies.

this gal reminds me of female Nazi prison guards, tbh. ever seen photos of those battleaxes?

she's shaking because she's afraid they'll yank her benefits and leave her to starve.

i mean come on, she's only been out of work for 2 years, not like 15-20 years like some, I feel so sad for that lady.

misspolkadot just needs a stick to whip them with!

NervousNutty Thu 20-Aug-09 21:14:59

Not watching yet but am I right in thinking that this woman runs an organisation to get mums back into work ??

If so then have they mentioned that this scheme is only available to people who they deem to live in a poorer area ???

I tried 3 of these agencies to help me get back into work, and all 3 told me I wasn't eligable because I live in what is classed as an affluent area hmm

I wrote to my MP about it and he eventually said that I could get the same help from my job centre, which is complete and utter bollocks. If thats the case then why do these agencies exist ?
