Because we are but the little people who have money stolen from us on a regular basis by unfeeling organisations who squander it on lunches and taxi fares. Our job is to work our socks off to provide the aforementioned individuals with their creature comforts and, if they have 5 minutes spare they sometimes cobble together a reality tv programme for us.

Ours is not to reason why... but it sucks.

theres nothing worth watching on sky either!

we are canceling our sky subscrption and having freeview instead. all we watch on telly though is cbeebies or the news.

I'm feeling the opposite - last week there were about 6 things I really wanted to watch, but the TV recorder died and we were away!

Dave Mitchell on Who do you think you are, the story of Fleming and penicillin, Wallander, that one about the Gardai in Ireland, Rupert Everett's Byron documentary...

I watch a lot more TV now it's all magically recorded (usually) complete with subtitles (on a good day) and can pause it whenever.

Don't have Sky at all.

I don't have a tv license and I don't receive any kind of tv signal. I do however have a tv. I subscribe to love film and I can watch films (obviously) but also most tv series. If I fancy watching soaps I'll download them. All this can be done legally without a tv license and more cheaply. Maybe it's worth having a look at different options.

Why not get rid of your TV, then? We have, and watch anything we want to on the computer.

p.s. You can reclaim your license fee quite easily.
