Due to being skint and having to wach the pennies we have decided to get rid of Sky as it is a luxury we can cut back on. this means that for a while until we can afford the freeview box that we will be Cbeebies/Nick Jr and Tiny Pops less.
DD is only 2. have been looking on ebay for some cheap DVDs but no luck. Anyone any ideas?

She doesn't watch TV all the time but sometimes when I am making tea it entertains her while I am busy.

mine liked videos of teletubbies etc at that age - I used tape them from the BBC as well as use readymade ones. Why not tape some progrrammes that she does like from the stuff that's on terrestial tv?

CBeebies are on BBC 2 in the mornings. You could tape those, or what about buying videos in charity shops or at car boot sales?

We cant afford sky so we got a free view box from tescos for fifty pounds. It has c beebies, cartoon network,e4, itv 2, bbc3 for those great kids documentries and a music channel etc etc etc.

One off payment and happy kids

If you've been subsribing for more than 12 months then you cna unsubsrcibe and be left with some of the channels, might include cbeebies?

I haven't told them I want to unsubscribe - I have just cancelled my direct debit. Will they just disconnect me and I still get standrad chanells or will it stop altogether - I only paid the minimum monthly fee anyway.

We were in the same situation with ntl. We found that Freeview is more than adequate - in fact, we don't really miss cable at all.

It wasn't easy to get ntl to cancel our subscription, though. They ignored our letter and follow-up email and only disconnected us when we cancelled our direct debit. They still keep trying to bill us for the month after we told them we wanted to stop, have even got a debt collection agency to threaten us.

do you think I should tell them or just wait for them to take the payment and contact me when they realise they won't get the money? Obviously they don't know yet and so we still have Sky connected.
