Anyone see it? The one where the parents dig a trap for the lad who sits down in it - cue triumph and hilarity from the parents. Does anyone else find it slightly spiteful?

I'm sure you will cookie. It seems to be on all the time atm. I don't like grown ups ganging up on children.

It's part of a series of adverts for a Welsh bread and has been on the telly for years- before the mother became Chrissie in Eastenders so you can see how old they are. There's also one where the eldest dd is sent to school for St David's day in national costume and comes home saying she was the only one in costume. I think they show a happy family playing jokes on each other tbh

here, WARNING! not for the faint hearted!

Now seriously I did find it very funny, I saw it as a family playing a joke on one member, not an adult vs children thing.

It wasn't the fact that he was sitting in a hole that was the problem. It was the fact that the parents were having hysterics and no-one else was in the slightest bit amused. If that had been us I'd have had a good laugh, then gone over and pulled him out and made him feel included in the joke.

It's probably just me.

Is it Braces? I quite like Braces' wholemeal bread.

Sorry, but that's hilarious!!

It's the sort of thing I can see me and DH doing to DD! She's a well balanced kid, that understands the difference between a joke and child abuse, so we can only hope that that kid is the same!

I think it's the dad's face just before he sits on the towel. Something a bit 'silverback' about it all imo.

OrmIrian · 22/06/2009 21:21

Yes portblack! exactly. Aha! You understand me. And the fact that he extends the 'joke' into the comment about the sandwich

He will grow to hate his dad, who will continue to exert his influence through bullying over his wife and Dds, who will continue to play along.

Eventually his dad will throw him in water that is too deep and cold or force him to down too much ale in front of his mates and he will go off to Uni never to be seen again.

While my above comments may be taking the piss - we all know dad's like this!

In fact he may grow up to kill his father and sleep with his mother

All because of a stupid prank!

And yes we all do know dad's like that.

@ you two! Stop worrying about him! He's fine! What you didn't see, was when he got himself out of the hole, he put crabs in his dads trunks and painted the word 'tosser' across his forehead, in suntan lotion, whilst he was asleep in the sun!

BT couple? I know of no BT couple? Are they truly equipped to deal with such a damaged child?

No, they are not suitable at all. Far too miserable .

Are the BT couple back together again?

There was a thread on here the other week wondering what their 'big news' was - marriage, pregnancy etc. IIRC someone suggested she's recovered from genital warts.
