Anyone going to watch? I personally can't wait. Loved League of Gentleman and Apocalypse so am awaiting eagerly.

PortAndLemon Thu 18-Jun-09 21:19:28

I'm SkyPlussing it so that DH and I can watch it together when he's back in the UK next month. Unless I weaken and watch it myself before that...

NorbertDentressangle Thu 18-Jun-09 21:22:36

Thanks for the reminder -saw the trailer for it and thought it looked weird and wonderful.

Stilla Thu 18-Jun-09 21:42:45

notnowbernard Thu 18-Jun-09 21:44:16

DAwn French in tonight's episode

YanknCock Thu 18-Jun-09 21:51:39

I'll be watching. DH and I loved League of Gentlemen. We even nicknamed my horrible midwife 'Pauline'.

Stilla Thu 18-Jun-09 22:32:14

Anyone pressed the red button for episode 2 ?

nomorecake Thu 18-Jun-09 22:38:50

oh no, forgot it was on!! sad

MachuPicchu Thu 18-Jun-09 22:41:26

Yes watching episode two. I will never sleep soundly again...

notnowbernard Thu 18-Jun-09 22:43:08

Makes League of Gentleman look like gentle family sit-com material...

PurpleOne Thu 18-Jun-09 22:45:39

pressed red button for episode 2 but there's no talking!!!

Did anyone ever see League of Gentlemen live on stage?
They were brill.

We have a 3 week old kitten who we called Dave. He's a no tail LOL

Might watch it all over again on iplayer grin

Rollergirl1 Thu 18-Jun-09 22:51:44

It's just two of them from League of Gentlemen isn't it? I would say was very similar to what they have done before.

But still very funny. Spat my wine out at the murder mystery bit where he'd written 'fuck pig' on the wall.

LovelyDear Thu 18-Jun-09 22:54:00

sorry mum i done a bad killing

PurpleOne Thu 18-Jun-09 22:55:56

Yes it's just Reece and Steve.
In a recent interview with Jeremy Dyson, he did give subtle hints that the 'Leaguers' would be getting back together again in the future.

I admit I did like the bit where Mr Jelly had his hand pulled off and scared the kids. And then paid him cash in the fake hand!

notnowbernard Thu 18-Jun-09 22:57:25

Yes very similar but darker, I thought

Or maybe that's just the passage of time

HAs been ages since I've seen LoG

Rollergirl1 Thu 18-Jun-09 23:03:10

"sorry mum i done a bad killing"

They are kings of the catch-phrase..

"Hello Daave, you are my wife now"
"This is a local shop for local people"
"I made a little brown fish"

7 weeks. Yaaay for thurs night.

UnquietDad Thu 18-Jun-09 23:08:04

When I saw the title I thought it was going to be an adaptation of the Christopher Fowler novel. Disappointed it's not.

Rollergirl1 Thu 18-Jun-09 23:13:40

I've read the christopher fowler novel too. I wouldn't have bothered watching if was an adaptation of that.

So come on, your thoughts?

Stilla Thu 18-Jun-09 23:16:35

loved it - the writing of the letters (at the Post Office) was a laugh out loud moment - as was 'cash in hand' grin

MachuPicchu Thu 18-Jun-09 23:19:58

I loved it too, but I have to watch anything by them from between my fingers because I'm a wimp and I don't trust them not to scare the bejesus out of me

pollywobbledoodle Thu 18-Jun-09 23:39:01

brilliantly uncomfortable comedy.
as has been said "mum i've done a bad killing" is a classic linegrin

this and big bang theory are going to be my progs of the week

why exactly did i waste half an hour of my life earlier thinking that might contain nuts might be a bit funny? hmm

PurpleOne Fri 19-Jun-09 01:32:19

Purpleone -I love the idea of a kitten called Dave

DP has a friend called Dave who is always known in our house as " Hello Dave" (in "that" voice)

Even the DC called him "Hello Dave".

I remember DP and DS (3 at the time) coming back from town one day and DS telling me "We saw Hello Dave in Waitrose" -he did the voice perfectly too grin.

Agree that Psychoville seemed even darker than LOG in some respects -definitely one to watch!

The old blind man lives in Ilkley! Perfect.
